The 5QS delivers intense colors that are not washed out by daylight - a problem that most RGB keyboards suffer from.
Das Keyboard 5QS features a detachable wrist rest that’s attached magnetically and helps typists rest their palms comfortably.
Das Keyboard 5QS sports an anodized black aluminum top panel. Made with first-class electrons, this top panel will be serving you for years to come.
Made by Omron (Japan) for Das Keyboard, the Gamma Zulu is a modern best-in-class, fast, soft tactile key switch. It lasts forever with its unequaled 100 million life cycle. The feel is amazing and allows effortless typing and coding sessions.
I wanted to change the keyboard I bought because I didn't like the gamma zulu switches. I put in a ticket and someone responded two days later. That was a week ago. I pinged them again yesterday but have not received a response. I'm super unhappy, as I love my current Prime 13, but I wanted some color. I was a Das Keyboard fan, but that is quickly souring.
The 5QS from Das Keyboard is easy to program, even if it's just designating a key for signing your email (I do not play computer games). The only other keyboard I ever had that was such a pleasure to type on was from Rosewill, but the software to interface with the keyboard is much better from Das Keyboard. A really nice product for someone who types a lot on a daily basis.
I enjoyed the keyboard for a few weeks but the quality of the keys are poor and one has already broken.
I have little use for the 5QS apps, but appreciate the lighted keyboard. I was willing to try the Gamma Zulu keyboard switches. They're tolerable, but not as good for me as Cherry brown's. I grew up on IBM Selectric keyboards, and the Pro S is similar in action. The 5QS is much softer, but certainly massively better than a "silent" keyboard. I like the audio controls, though I don't do much audio, except for standard computer sounds. I also like that the lighting intensity is controllable by the keyboard, as well as the 5QS app. I will keep the keyboard, and continue to use it. Bottom line -- this is a good keyboard, with several pros, and will satisfy many people, except those who demand more tactile feel.
